FOUNDER

Where Love, Inclusion, and Purpose Come Together.

TNJ Pearl Uganda Ltd was founded from a mother's unwavering love and determination to create a more inclusive world for children and youth with special needs. Our mission is deeply personal: to care for, support, empower, and uplift families raising children with special needs by creating meaningful opportunities that celebrate ability, dignity, and independence.

Our story began with Mrs. Nabakiibi Freda Ssenyonjo and her daughter, Namayenga Joan Tusaba, a young woman living with autism who possesses an extraordinary gift for hand knitting. With remarkable creativity and precision, Joan creates beautiful, intricate fabric patterns using only her hands and yarn. What started as a therapeutic activity at home soon revealed itself to be something much greater—a talent capable of inspiring lives and creating opportunities for others.

As Joan reached adulthood, Mrs. Freda recognized both the challenge and the opportunity facing many individuals with special needs: possessing incredible abilities yet having limited access to meaningful employment. Driven by a vision of inclusion and economic empowerment, she transformed Joan's passion into a structured production enterprise and established TNJ Pearl Uganda Ltd.

Today, Joan is the heart, soul, and Chief Executive Officer of our enterprise. Her commitment, discipline, cleanliness, organization, and dedication to her work embody everything we stand for. Through her example, she demonstrates a powerful truth that challenges stereotypes and changes perceptions.

Disability is not inability

At TNJ Pearl Uganda Ltd, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to contribute, earn, and thrive. Through hand knitting, artisan craftsmanship, life-skills development, and holistic empowerment programs, we create sustainable opportunities that enable individuals with special needs and vulnerable youth to achieve financial independence and social inclusion.

Every product we create tells a story of resilience, inclusion, and hope. Every purchase supports a movement that values ability over limitation and potential over perception.
